Goalies can be assigned to a tryout team or released after the Goalie Session. (the number of goalies advancing on to tryout teams can vary depending on the number of goalies trying out)
Players/Goalies can be reassigned or released after each tryout session.  
There will be parent/player informational meetings (dates/times TBD)

Maximum number of tryout spots for 15O/16U is 90
Maximum number of tryout spots for 18U is 60

Available spots on Teams:
15O:  12 skaters and 1 goalie
16U:    8 skaters and 1 goalie
18U:  10 skaters and 0 goalies

2024-2025 Coaching Staff 

The Colorado Thunderbirds is pleased to announce our coaching staff for the 2024-2025 season! The Thunderbirds offer the highest level of coaching from top to bottom.  We focus on our culture for all ages and believe attitude and work ethic are two things that can be controlled every day!  We are excited about the coaches we are naming and look forward to taking our Program to another level.  

The Colorado Thunderbirds provide the benchmark of competition for elite players, and are proud members of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League.  Our Thunderbirds 16U team is 17 time State Champion, 4 time Tier 1 Elite League Champions with 8 National Tournament appearances, winning the 16U National Championships in 2010.  Our 14U team is 12 time State Champion and 9 appearances at the National Tournament, our 18U team has won the State Championship once and been to 5 National Tournaments, and our 15U team has won the State Championship 3 times.
