GAMBRELL AND EYSSIMONT
CHOSEN IN THE
2016 NHL DRAFT!
The Colorado Thunderbirds are proud to announce that two former Colorado Thunderbirds players, Dylan Gambrell and Mikey Eyssimont, were drafted today, June 25, in the 2016 NHL Draft bringing the total Thunderbirds players drafted in the NHL to 16 since 2008! Players from the Colorado Thunderbirds program continue to have excellent opportunities and to benefit from the elite training received in the Thunderbirds organization.
Dylan Gambrell, a forward, was chosen by San Jose Sharks, round 2, #60 overall. Dylan, son of proud parents Jim and Monica Gambrell of Bonney Lake, Washington, played Colorado Thunderbirds from 2011-2012. Gambrell played his Junior years for USHL Dubuque Fighting Saints, and has just completed his freshman year for the University of Denver.
Mikey Eyssimont, a forward, was selected by LA Kings, round 5, #142 overall. Mikey, is from Littleton, Colorado, and the son of proud parents George and Nancy Eyssimont. Eyssimont played Colorado Thunderbirds from 2009-2013 before heading off to play his Junior years at USHL Fargo Force 2013-2015 and finishing up for the USHL Sioux Falls Stampede. Mikey has just completed his freshman year at St. Cloud University.
