The Colorado Thunderbird 16U American Team kept their winning streak alive by bringing home a 4th championship of the season this past weekend at the Tier I Elite Hockey League Playoffs in Blaine, Minnesota.  The team played tough in round robin play against Victory Honda (2-1 SO win), Pittsburgh Penguins (5-1) and the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (2-1 SO win).  The Tbirds earned the 1st place seed heading into the semi-finals to face the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers (2-0). The Tbirds squared off against the Oakland Jr. Flyers once again in the championship game. They played tough and dominated much of a physical game to bring home the cup with an exciting 5-3 victory. It was a great weekend for the Colorado Thunderbird family in Blaine as the 16U National team also won their division of the TIEHL League Championship and brought home that division title for a second year in a row.

The 16U American Team have brought home the hardware this season from the Detroit Warrior Tournament, Littleton Hockey Association Thanksgiving Tournament, Minnesota Gone Wild Tournament as well as the T1EHL Playoff Tournament. The Colorado Thunderbird 16U American Team currently sits with an overall record of 69-4-7 heading into the CAHA State Championship February 27th-March 2nd in Colorado. Go Tbirds!!!
