Colorado Thunderbirds top priorities are everyone's safety and health. With that being said, we were hopeful that we could get back on the ice with our Spring Program, Midget Pre-Tryout Skates, and Main Tryouts in May. Following the Colorado re-opening procedures for ice rinks does not make it feasible to do our full programs in May as at this time there are no rinks in the Denver area open yet, or plans that we know of to open fully to the public in May. We will be cancelling our May ice and moving forward on our backup plan of having some 11U-18U skates followed by tryouts in June. We can transfer your payment for our Spring Program, Midget Pre-Tryout Skates and May Tryouts to the June Skates or Tryouts, or if that doesn't work, we can refund the fees for the May events. More details on the process will be sent out soon.
We are planning on conducting 11U-18U pre-tryouts skates running from June 8-23. The schedule for these skates will be released in the next couple of days. We will host tryouts for 11U-18U levels for the 2020-2021 season from June 24-28. This is all contingent on receiving confirmation with rinks, and with current conditions changing to allow larger groups. We will have more information to share with you all as we get closer to these June dates.
We will continue to keep you updated as we finalize the details, but wanted to get this information to everyone as soon as possible for planning purposes. If something changes and our coaches are able to offer small group training or any programs in May, we'll let you know that as well.
We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding during these uncertain times. Please stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the ice in June! As always, if you have any questions on anything, please let us know.
