USHL AND WHL DRAFT STREAKS!
The 2018 USHL Futures and Main Entry Drafts were held May 7 and May 8 respectively, and the Colorado Thunderbirds continue to position players for their next level of hockey. The Thunderbirds had 4 current players selected and 4 former Thunderbirds chosen in the USHL draft.
The 2018 USHL Futures Draft was held May 7, and Colorado Thunderbirds forward, Aidan Thompson, was drafted by Lincoln in round 2, 27th overall.
The 2018 USHL Main Entry Draft was held on May 8, and the Colorado Thunderbirds had 3 current players and 4 former players chosen.

The Thunderbirds continue to place our elite players in the top junior league in the country. In the past nine years, the Colorado Thunderbirds program has been fortunate to have 83 players selected in the USHL Main Entry and Futures Draft.
The Western Hockey League (WHL) held their Bantam Draft for 14 year old players (2003 birth year) on Thursday, May 3. Colorado Thunderbirds had 1 former player, Jackson DeSouza, defense, drafted by Kelowna in the round 4, 84th overall.
All players will attend their team's main camp this summer and work to earn a spot on their USHL or WHL roster.
Congratulations to each of these players on being drafted and the recognition they have achieved. This is a special day for all these young men. Colorado Thunderbirds is excited to continue to watch these young men develop as hockey players!
