WESTERN SELECTS HOCKEY
COLORADO 2008
BRICK EVALUATIONS
MARCH 6-7, 2018

Colorado Thunderbirds and Littleton Hockey Association are excited to announce that the Edmonton Brick Tournament has implemented some changes to the California Brick Program.  Previously, the California jurisdiction area encompassed only three states -- California, Arizona, and Nevada.  All players outside of these states were considered "Import Players," which by Edmonton Brick Tournament Rules, were not allowed to accept more than three on their roster.

The Brick Tournament organizers have now expanded their geographic region for 2018 and beyond to include states covered in the Pacific and Rocky Mountain Districts.  For those of you unfamiliar this would include California, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Texas.  Washington will remain as the only "open" state.

The new name of the program will be  Western Selects Hockey, and all players residing in the above mentioned states are eligible to play as "local" players.   Anyone outside of these areas would still be considered an import player.

The process for attending tryouts will be changing from previous years' method.  Now, players must attend pre-tryout clinics to be evaluated in their local region.  If you live in Colorado, you will attend a clinic in the Denver area.  If you live in Texas or Oklahoma, you wll attend clinics in Dallas.  If you live in Arizona, you will attend in Phoenix.  If you live outside these states, but in the Western Region, you may attend in any of these cities that are convenient to you.

FOR COLORADO PLAYERS:  All 2008 players in Colorado who wish to tryout for the Western US Selects Brick Team must first attend evaluation skates on March 6 and 7 in Colorado.  The Colorado Thunderbirds will coordinate and invite eligible players to attend evaluation skates in the Denver area.  By early March a list of players advancing out of these evaluations will be invited to the main tryout camp (March 30-April 1) in Southern California where the team will be selected.
