Five Tbirds Selected in the WHL Bantam Draft (00)

On Thursday, May 7, the Western Hockey League (WHL) held their Bantam Draft for 14 year old players  (2000 birth years).  As in previous years, the Colorado Thunderbirds were well represented in this draft.  Colorado Thunderbirds had five current players selected and one former player chosen in the Bantam Draft.  The five players drafted were from the Thunderbirds 14U team.

The 2015 WHL Bantam Draft was held May 7, and the Colorado Thunderbirds had 5 players selected from the Thunderbirds 14U team:

  • Nolan Foote, forward, drafted by Kelowna in round 2, 43rd overall
  • Bryan Lockner, forward, drafted by Regina in round 3, 58th overall
  • Will Brown, defense, drafted by Everett in round 6, 129th overall
  • Noah Prokop, forward, drafted by Calgary in round 7, 152nd overall
  • Chase Sakic, forward, drafted by Seattle in round 8, 169th overall

Former Colorado Thunderbirds player, Dino Kambeitz, a forward, was also drafted by Victoria in round 5, 90th overall

Congratulations to these players for the recognition they have achieved in the WHL Bantam Draft.  Colorado Thunderbirds is excited to continue to watch these young men develop as hockey players!
