Three Thunderbird U16 Players Selected for USA NTDP Camp

The Colorado Thunderbirds are pleased to announce that Dominic Turgeon, Brandon Carlo and Dylan Gambrell have been invited to attend the USA National Team Development Program (NTDP) “40 man” camp March 19 -23 in Ann Arbor, MI.  “The Thunderbirds are proud that our nationally ranked program continues to provide an environment that is advancing players to the NTDP,” said Angelo Ricci, U16 Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations.  “It is a credit to our players, the Thunderbird coaching staff and our program.  We wish these players all the best as they try to earn a spot on the U17 team for the 2012-2013 season,” added Coach Ricci.  Turgeon signed with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL so he will not attend the camp.

Former Colorado Thunderbird players who have played or been selected for the NTDP U17 team in Ann Arbor are Sean Lorenz (TBirds 2004-2006, Notre Dame -- current player, NHL draft pick by Minnesota Wild).  Nick Shore, (Tbirds 2006-2008, University of Denver Pioneers -- current player, NHL draft pick by the Los Angeles Kings).  Gavin Stoick, (Tbirds 2008-2010, NTDP U18 -- current player, will attend Cornell for the 2012-2013 season, NHL draft eligible June of 2012), Quentin Shore, (Tbirds 2006-2010, NTDP U18 -- current player, will attend University of Denver for the 2012-2013 season, NHL draft eligible June of 2012) and Seth Swenson (Tbirds 2007-2009), who was offered a spot with the NTDP for the 2009-2010 season but signed with Portland of the WHL and is now playing for Seattle of the WHL.
