On Thursday, May 3, the Western Hockey League (WHL) held their Bantam Draft for 14 year old players.  As we have seen in past years, the Colorado Thunderbirds were represented in this draft.  This year four players from the Thunderbird U14 team were selected by teams in the WHL.  The players selected were:

Zach Goberis  Round 4 - 87th overall Selected by: Tri-City Americans (then traded to Lethbridge Hurricanes)

Christos Zinis  Round 8 - 172nd overall Selected by: Moose Jaw Warriors

Logan Fauber  Round 10 - 204th overall Selected by: Lethbridge Hurricanes

Alex Overhardt  Round 11 - 240th overall Selected by: Portland Winterhawks

"We are excited and congratulate these players for the recognition they have achieved in this draft.  It will be exciting to continue to watch these young men develop as student-athletes and as hockey players," said Angelo Ricci, Director of Hockey Operations for the Colorado Thunderbirds.
