The Colorado Thunderbirds are pleased to announce that U16 forward Kai Cathers has signed to play for the Cowichan Capitals of the BCHL for the 2012-2013 season. "Kai really develop during last season and he will continue to grow as a player. He has terrific size and shot. We are very happy for him and wish him nothing but success in the next phase of his hockey career," states Director of Hockey Operations and U16 head coach, Angelo Ricci. The BCHL is considered one of the top development junior leagues in North America. "We are excited to add a great young player like Kai to our roster" said Caps Head coach and General Manager Jim Ingram. "Kai brings size and an element of physical play to our lineup that will be welcome. We are looking forward to watching his development and with Kai only being a 95 birth year, feel he is going to grow into a valuable member of our team for the next couple of seasons". Kai is the son of Chrissy and Paul Cathers of Aspen, CO.
