The Colorado Thunderbirds are pleased to announce that former Thunderbird Quentin Shore has committed to play Division 1 college hockey for the University of Denver in the WCHA.  He is scheduled to play for the Pioneers starting in the fall of 2012.  There is the possibility Quentin might be playing with his two brothers Drew (junior forward and NHL draft pick of the Florida Panthers and Nick (Tbird alum, sophomore forward and NHL draft pick of the LA Kings).  Shore, born in 1994, is a forward that played for NTDP U17 team this past season in Ann Arbor, MI.  He hails from Cherry Hills Village, CO.

Quentin played in the Colorado Thunderbirds organization for four years from 2006-2010.  He played for our U12 PeeWee Major, U14 Bantam Major (two years) and Midget Minor U16 Midget Minor teams.  Shore has played in four USA National Championships with the Thunderbirds.  He was a member and leading scorer of the 2010 Tier 1 U16 National Championship team, that won Colorado’s first Tier 1 hockey championship ever.  “Q has terrific skills and an uncanny ability to make his teammates around him better.  DU knows what they are getting with Q as they have a terrific track record with the Shore boys,” states Coach Ricci.  “As a program, the Colorado Thunderbirds strive to prepare and produce young athletes that are ready to take the next step in their career.  Quentin is a fine example of the type of player that the Thunderbird program works to develop and move to the next level,” added Coach Ricci.
