On Thursday, May 1, the Western Hockey League (WHL) held their Bantam Draft for 14 year old players (1999 birth years). As we have seen in past years, the Colorado Thunderbirds were well represented in this draft. This year three players from the USA Hockey National participant, Thunderbirds 14U team, were selected in the bantam draft. The players selected were:
Baker Shore Round 6 - 126th overall Selected by Seattle Thunderbirds
Colby Bukes Round 6 - 132nd overall Selected by Kelowna Rockets
Hunter Bancroft Round 10 - 214th overall Selected by Seattle Thunderbirds
"We are excited and congratulate these three players for the recognition they have achieved in the WHL Bantam Draft. It will be exciting to continue to watch these young men develop as hockey players," said Angelo Ricci, Director of Hockey Operations for the Colorado Thunderbirds.
