ICE UPDATE 4.24.20

As some businesses are getting permission to re-open, we were hopeful that Colorado Thunderbirds would be able to get back on the ice May 1. Things are still uncertain on when some of the rinks might be able to re-open, and then what restrictions will be in place once re-opened. We are in constant contact with the rinks (who are in contact with the Colorado Department of Health and Environment (CDPHE), and remain optimistic that we will be able to get back on the ice in some capacity soon.

We do not have all the answers yet, but wanted to post an update to keep you updated as much as possible, and we should have even more information in the upcoming days. As it looks right now, we are not sure if we will be able to start with our full Spring Program, Midget Pre-Tryouts Skates and Fall tryouts in May, and although it isn't looking like we will be able to start May 1, the good news is that we have some backup plans if needed to start mid-May or even June. If we are able to skate in May, whether in full capacity or small groups, we'll let everyone know as soon as we do. As for June, we have planned some 11U-18U skates, plus backup dates for Tryouts if we can't skate or tryout in May. We also plan on having at least a couple weeks of skates before tryouts, so everyone can get their feet back under them by tryouts!

We don't have all the answers yet, but feel confident in our backup plans if needed! As more details become available, we will send it out and post on our Colorado Thunderbirds website. Please continue to follow the Governor's strict guidelines as everyone's safety and health are our top priorities!

If you have any questions on anything, please let us know! We look forward to seeing everyone back on the ice soon!
