CAL FOOTE SELECTED
ROUND 1, #14 OVERALL
IN 2017 NHL DRAFT!

The Colorado Thunderbirds are proud of Cal Foote, former Colorado Thunderbirds defenseman, who was selected in the first round of the NHL draft, #14 overall, by Tampa Bay Lightning.  Foote's draft selection brings the total Thunderbirds players drafted in the NHL to 17 since 2008!  Colorado Thunderbirds are excited that their players continue to have excellent opportunities and to benefit from the elite training received in the Thunderbirds organization.

Cal Foote played Colorado Thunderbirds from 2009-2015 and was Captain of the 2014-2015 Thunderbirds 16U Team that placed 3rd in the nation.  Foote played the last 2 seasons for the Kelowna Rockets.  Last season was special for the Foote family as Cal's younger brother, Nolan, was also on the team.  Cal is the son of proud parents, Jenn and Adam Foote.  Cal is following in his father, Adam's, footsteps as Adam is a 20-year NHL defense veteran, who was selected in the second round, #22 overall, in the 1989 NHL draft by Quebec.
