ADRIAN VEIDEMAN TAKES THE REINS FOR COLORADO BASED TIER-3 LEAGUE

After a thorough search of numerous qualified candidates, the RMJHL Board of Directors selected Adrian Veideman to serve as Commissioner for the 2017-18 season.  Entering its third season, he takes the reins of USA Hockey’s newest Tier-3 league, managing the daily operations.  "I am honored and excited for the opportunity to be the new Commissioner of the RMJHL.  Junior hockey gave me the opportunity to develop as a player and a young man, and I am excited to give back to the game and to help our league, teams, coaches and players experience continued growth,” stated Veideman.

After a two successful junior seasons with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (a BCHL affiliate of the RMJHL’s Steamboat Wranglers), Veideman enrolled at Denver University in 2003.  After winning back-to-back national championships in 2004 and 2005, he served as the Pioneers captain his senior season (2006/07).  For nine years following his collegiate career, Veideman played professional hockey in numerous leagues both in North America and Europe.  He retired in 2016 with the Colorado Eagles.  His vast playing experience from junior hockey through the professional ranks provides him a unique understanding of the player development process.

“The RMJHL Board is pleased to begin a new era under Veideman’s leadership.  He brings tremendous passion and a solid understanding of what it takes to achieve success in junior hockey and beyond,” explained RMJHL President Shaun Hathaway.  Veideman will begin his duties as the new commissioner by representing the league during the CCM Showcase in Denver over Memorial Day weekend.
