COLORADO STATE CHAMPS
12TH STRAIGHT YEAR!

Congratulations to the Colorado Thunderbirds 16U Team as they claimed the Colorado Tier 1 State Championship for their 12th straight year by defeating Rocky Mountain Roughriders 4-3 in the State Championship Game on Sunday, March 5.  To earn a chance to play for the State Title, the Colorado Thunderbirds 16U team beat Colorado Springs Tigers on Friday, March 3 by a score of 3-0, and Colorado Rampage on Saturday, March 4 by a score of 5-0.  The Colorado Thunderbirds 16U team outscored their opponents 12-3 with the only goals against being in the Championship Game.  

The Colorado Thunderbirds 16U team, along with the Colorado Thunderbirds 18U Team and 15U Team, will advance to the Rocky Mountain District Championship in Gilbert, Arizona, March 17-19.  We wish all three Colorado Thunderbirds Teams the best of luck as they continue their quest to the USA Hockey National Championships.  The USA Hockey National Championships will take place April 6-10, 2017.  The 15U division will be held in Phoenix, Arizona, while the 16U and 18U Divisions will take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
